On my recent trip to Sapa, Vietnam I met 24 yr old Phuong. She was sold by her mother and kept as a trafficked prisoner for years before she managed to escape and return home to her father, brother, and sisters. Even though her mother has been arrested and is now doing time, Phuong is the only one who pays her visits and continues to pray for her mother. She told me she will never understand why her mother did what she did, but with all she's been thru she'd rather have a mother than to not have one at all. When I visited Phuong at home with her family, I had to play dress up with Phuong's hand made customary #Hmong wear. This is a 3 piece knit with hand sewn embroidery & hand painted beads. This blue color represented the purity in Phuong's forgiveness. 🙏 #TravelTuesday #JeannieInVietnam #Vietnam Pacific Links Foundation
